ACCESSIBILITY

At Rambling Historian, our goal is to be as accessible as possible as a small business. While we have designed our business and tours on offer with this in mind, it is important to let us know if there are any specific requirements or special allowances you’d like us to take into consideration during your time with us. We try to respond to any effort to contact or email within 48 hours. Otherwise, you may refer to the accessibility portion of each of our tour pages for further information on what you may expect from that particular tour.

Where we can, we have endeavoured to design each of our tours to have an accessible route where possible i.e. allowing for ramp access instead of stairs, choosing only pavement and avoiding grass, avoiding main roads, etc. However, there are elements of our tours that we cannot change such as different ground level changes i.e. cobblestones throughout Berwick, and slight inclines which occur throughout Berwick in particular. We also want to ensure that every one of our ramblers gets the most out of our tour and is prepared ahead of time to do their own evaluation of their individual fitness for the given tour. Where can, we’ve indicated for each tour in the details section the time, length in miles, and what you may expect in terms of the tour’s geography.

We also understand that while some different abilities may be visible, there are many that are invisible. Please let us know in advance, or by visual keys such as a sunflower lanyard so we can do our best to ensure your time with us is as accessible and inclusive as possible.

Where we can, we’ve also made efforts to make our website accessible with the tools and applications integrated ex. higher contrasting colors for readability, size of text for readability, etc.
